PETALING JAYA: Members of the Negri Sembilan Chinese Recreational Club (NSCRC) will be especially interested in the Malaysia Cup final.
The club, which was founded 90 years ago (1916), after all produced the bulk of the players in the last Negri Sembilan team to win the Malaya Cup in 1948.
They provided eight of the 16 players who featured in the team then.
These players include skipper Kwan Soon Teck, Tan Kee Fah, Ng Kok Thong, Wong Chit Woh, Choong Yoon Chong, Tan Kim Chye, Liew Thian Qwee and Chong Kok Heng.
The others in the team were Yuen Ah Kow, Sheikh Mustapha, Lt J. Whitehead, Capt W. R. Watson, Haji Ibrahim, Abdul Pinto and Goh Hock Chye and Sheikh Ali.
All are believed to have died.
Today, the club still boasts of one big name, former international Wong Sai Kong, who is playing for Perak this season.
