LONDON: An Everton football fan was killed by a flying piece of debris near the Leicester City stadium on Saturday before the start of a Premier League match, Leicester police said.Â
The man was hit by flying debris as a result of high winds, in Upperton Road, Leicester, at approximately 1418 GMT this afternoon and received fatal injuries, police said.Â
They said the death appeared to be an accident and was not being treated as suspicious, adding that the debris was not from the stadium itself. Â
The police did not give any further details but local media said the man was 40 years old. Â
The match ended in a 1-1 draw. ReutersÂ
