LONDON: Tottenham Hotspur striker Frederic Kanoute can play for Mali at this month's African Nations Cup after world soccer's governing body FIFA announced yesterday that he is eligible to represent his parents' country.
FIFA's status committee, which rules on the eligibility of players, also decided Leeds United's Lamine Sakho and Mohamed Sissoko of Valencia can play for Senegal and Mali respectively at the tournament starting in Tunisia on Jan 24.
