Bolton’s Laville out for six months

LONDON: Bolton Wanderers defender Florent Laville will be out for at least six months after rupturing a knee ligament, the club said on Monday.

Laville, who used to play for Lyon in France, was injured during the club's 2-0 victory over Middlesbrough on Saturday.

Scans showed he had ruptured the cruciate ligament in his left knee, the club said on its website.

“It's come as a massive blow to us, especially as it is an area (in defence) where we are short of numbers,” said Bolton manager Sam Allardyce.

Bolton are 14th in the English Premier League with five points from five games. Saturday's victory over Middlesbrough was their first of the season. – Reuters
