PETALING JAYA: Malaysia Cup history was made last night at the MPPJ Stadium in Kelana Jaya when Selangor MPPJ became the first club side ever to qualify for the semi-final of the tournament, beating Pahang 3-2 with an injury time goal from Juan Manual Arostegui.
In a ding-dong battle, Hairuddin Omar put Pahang ahead in the 11th minute only for Safwan Harris to equalise in the 25th minute. Helton Soares Pereira made it 2-1 for Pahang but the club side again equalised, this time through Bruno Martelotto. Then, Arostegui struck.
