Chen Hong overcomes teammate Chen Yu to retain title

SINGAPORE: Defending champion and top seed Chen Hong came back from a game down to beat Chinese compatriot Chen Yu 11-15, 15-8, 15-4 in the men's singles final of the US$170,000 Yonex-Sunrise Singapore Open badminton championships at the Indoor Stadium here yesterday. 

Except for the men's doubles, which was an all-Danish affair, the other finals were the shows of the Chinese, who also had a pair in the mixed doubles final against the South Koreans.
