PARIS: European footballing giants England and Italy warmed-up for crucial Euro 2004 qualifiers next week by beating Serbia and Montenegro and Northern Ireland in their respective friendlies on Tuesday.
England had young prospect Joe Cole to thank for a 2-1 victory over the Serbs as his superb free kick sealed victory seven minutes from time while a second string Italian side were far too good for the toothless Northern Irish, seeing them off 2-0.
