SEPANG: Seven-time MotoGP world champion Marc Marquez was unshakeable as he stormed to his third PETRONAS Malaysian Grand Prix win on Sunday (Nov 1).
The 33-year-old Ducati Lenovo rider started the race in second place behind younger brother Alex Marquez of BK8 Gresini Ducati, but quickly took the lead into Turn 1 at the Sepang International Circuit.
Marquez then maintained his dominant pace and stayed in the lead for the remaining 20 laps before crossing the finish line comfortably in a time of 40:14.236s.
Red Bull KTM's Pedro Acosta, who won the sprint race on Saturday (Oct 31), came in second place, while Alex settled for third.
Marquez now has three victories in Malaysia after winning the 2014 and 2018 races.
It was also his seventh race win this season, and he is looking good to clinch his eighth world championship title with three races remaining on the MotoGP calendar.
The Spaniard now has 399 points, extending his lead to 44 points over compatriot Jorge Martin of Aprilia, who pulled out of the race weekend due to a broken wrist that he picked up at the previous race in Australia.
