Mixed fortunes for Qabil in Spain

PETALING JAYA: It was a weekend of highs and lows for teen rider Qabil Irfan at the Ricardo Tormo Circuit in Spain. Qabil saw his podium hopes in Race 1 of the MotoMini FIM World Series slip away after a last-corner incident proved costly. The 13-year-old was hit by British rider Ethan Trevorrow in the final turn and was forced to settle for seventh.

But the young Malaysian bounced back in Race 2, showcasing maturity and skill to secure third place – a result that helped him finish fourth overall in the championship’s 190cc category.
