13 not unlucky number for Nazirul as he plots great comeback win

PETALING JAYA: Nazirul Izzat Bahauddin (pic) of Petronas Sprinta Yamaha Maju Motor accomplished one of the great comebacks at the Petronas Malaysian Cub Prix Championship by winning the CP150 third-round race despite starting at the 13th grid at the Sepang Circuit yesterday.

Nazirul showed tremendous determination to pick up speed and steer his machine into the top group of riders.

Throughout the race, he was seen grappling to maintain his position, especially among the highly skilled riders, and fell to sixth spot at one point.

But Nazirul was quick to recover and came back strongly to finish the race first, clocking in at 14:07.916.

Nazirul took the fourth spot in round one and climbed to the podium at third in round two.

“I attribute this success to my team, who ensured that my machine is in a stable condition. While there were many crashes today, I’m glad to finish the race without any technical issues.”

“All 19 riders are competent, and this was a tough race. I managed to maintain my momentum and struck at the right time.”

The second spot went to Mohd Izam Izamli of ONEXOX Racing, who timed 14:07.924.

Azroy Hakeem Anuar of Honda Yuzy Idemitsu, who started in pole position, came in third at 14:08.070.

In the CP125 category, Mohd Hafiza Rofa of the ONEXOX TKKR Racing Team came out tops in 11:07.606.
