Ramdan gets Moto2 wildcard spot for Malaysian Motorcycle GP

Ramdan competed as a wildcard in the Malaysian Motorcycle Grand Prix last year in the Moto3 class.

PETALING JAYA: There will be three Malaysians on the grid for the Moto2 World Championship at the Malaysian Grand Prix next month.

Petronas AHM Malaysia have announced that Ramdan Rosli is the wildcard entry in the race at the Sepang International Circuit on Oct 23-25.

Malaysian motor-racing fans will have much to cheer for as Petronas Raceline rider Hafizh Syahrin Abdullah and Azlan Shah Kamaruzaman of Honda Team Asia will also be competing.

This will be Ramdan’s third MotoGP wildcard since making his debut as a contender in the Moto3 class in Sepang last year. His first Moto2 experience this year was as a wildcard at the Catalan GP in June.

“I’m thrilled to be granted another wildcard this year. I’m determined to give a better performance in Sepang this time.

“Moto2 is a very tough category and I’ve been putting extra hours in training since the beginning of the summer break. I hope to perform better in Sepang this time and also improve my performance in the remaining rounds of the CEV races,” said the 19-year-old Ramdan, who also competes in the Moto2 class of the Spanish FIM CEV Repsol Championship.
