Siti Norafizah races her way into history books


History maker. Siti Norafizah Mohd (centre) is the first-ever woman to win an overall title in the Malaysian Super Series motorcycle racing championship when she clinched the 250 Open category at Sepang on Saturday.

SEPANG: Youngster Siti Norafizah Mohd etched her name in the history books as the first-ever female to win an overall title in the 13-year history of the Malaysian Super Series (MSS) at the Sepang International Circuit (SIC).

The 19-year-old Norafizah finished second in both Races One and Two of the 250 Open category on Saturday, but it was good enough for her to lift the overall title ahead of closest contender Mohd Jazil Juraimi.
