Fitri’s back to help Speedy Tigers’ Olympics quest but Faizal’s out

Contrasting fortunes: Fitri is making a return to the Malaysian hockey squad after a lengthy layoff due to injuries while his sibling Faizal sustained an injury at training last week.

PETALING JAYA: Fitri Saari will get to fulfil his objective of helping the national hockey team’s challenge in the FIH Olympic Qualifiers but he will not have his brother for company at the tournament in Muscat, Oman, from Jan 15-21.

Fitri, together with striker Shahril Saabah, are among the players who are making a return to the final 18 of the Malaysian squad after a lengthy layoff due to injuries.
