Malaysia go on face-saving clash against New Zealand for 11th spot

KUALA LUMPUR: Pride is at stake when Young Tigers face New Zealand in the 11th place playoff and captain Faris Harizan and striker Harris Iskandar Osman are bent on continuing the team’s newfound confidence at the National Hockey Stadium in Bukit Jalil today.

Faris marshalled the defence well while Harris stepped up to score to convert the penalty corner to help Malaysia draw 2-2 against world No. 5 Belgium before bowing out 3-5 in the shootout for the 9th-12th classification match on Wednesday.
