Horrid start for Malaysian hockey five-a-side team in Lausanne

PETALING JAYA: Malaysia got off to a rough start in the inaugural FIH Hockey 5s in Lausanne, Switzerland.

In the first game against Switzerland on Saturday (June 4), the Malaysians were held 4-4 by the home side in the five-a-side tournament.

The team captained by Nabil Fiqri Nor were leading 4-1 until the 15th minute, but the Swiss side mounted a huge fightback to hold the Malaysians.

The second game proved to be a real heartache when they were thrashed 0-5 by Poland.

Malaysia will continue their challenge in the competition by taking on India and Pakistan on Sunday (June 5).
