FT's Cassidy dazzles as individual all-around queen in Sukma again

PETALING JAYA: Cassidy Tan Jia Xin of Federal Territories has retained her Malaysia Games (Sukma) rhythmic gymnastics individual all-around title at the Dewan Canselor Tun Abdul Razak, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) on Saturday (Aug 15).

The 15-year-old impressed the judges to top three events (hoop, ball and ribbon) and finished third in clubs to amass a total of 98.950 points. 

She scored the highest in the hoop  with 25,750 and followed by 24.550 in the clubs, ball (24.250) and ribbon (24.400).

She was also the champion at the last Games in Kuching two years ago. 

Selangor’s Momoka Sam Lee Li finished second with 95.530, while Cassidy’s teammate Wong Poe Syuen was third with 95.040. 

In the previous edition, medals were offered for each event, but in Selangor, only the individual all-around medal is awarded.
