Joe Ee and Co sparkle with rhythmic gymnastics team gold

BANGKOK: The rhythmic gymnastics team led by Ng Joe Ee dazzled their way to gold in the team final in the SEA Games.

Rhythmic gymansts Joe Ee, Mavia Wong and group exercise members - Valerie Ng, Bernice See, Carol Na, Syamimi Amalia Shahrizam, Lim Yar Xian and Maia Ong impressed the judges and scored a combined score of 234.60  points to take the title at Thammasat University in Pathum Thani on Monday (Dec 15).

Hosts Thailand won silver with 222.36 points while Philippines claimed bronze after scoring 174.42 points.

This year's team event is decided by combining the scores of the rhythmic and group exercise teams.

Joe Ee, who won a double gold medal at the last Commonwealth Games, will be out to add another when she compete in the individual event.
