This year’s championship welcomed 48 players from 11 countries: Australia, Hong Kong China, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, the United States, Vietnam.
Now in its 49th edition, the Championship has served as a stepping stone for emerging talent, offering young women the chance to compete at a high level while gaining international experience.
Several past participants have progressed to national teams and professional tours, cementing the tournament’s reputation as a conduit in the development of women’s golf.
Each August, local golfers gather at RSGC to test themselves against others from around the region.
“Beyond the pursuit of the trophy, the Championship also fosters competitive maturity, lasting friendships and the confidence required to advance to bigger stages,” said Omar Salim, the organising chairman.
He added that it continued to reflect RSGC’s commitment to nurturing women’s golf.
“We are proud to continue this tradition and remain committed to supporting the growth of women’s golf across Asia-Pacific,” he said.
“As the Championship approaches its milestone 50th edition next year, Royal Selangor Golf Club remains committed to delivering a world-class tournament that nurtures emerging talent and strengthens its legacy as one of the region’s most prestigious women’s amateur golf championships.”
