GOLFERS from around the region are set to converge on the Els Club Teluk Datai next month for the fourth edition of the Langkawi Amateur Golf Invitational (LAGI), a three-day, two-night charity tournament scheduled for Aug 12 to 14.
Combining competitive golf with a meaningful cause, the annual event continues its support of the Langkawi Autism Care Centre while offering participants a great experience in one of Malaysia’s premier golfing and tourism destinations.
The tournament will be contested in the Stableford format and is open to local and international amateur golfers with valid handicaps.
Organisers have also lined up a host of novelty competitions, including the popular On the Green Challenge, with an array of attractive prizes up for grabs.
Hospitality 360 organiser Rob Tan said players can look forward to rewarding competition both on and off the course.
“There are many prizes to be won, including our novelty contests with rich rewards for the winners. A hole-in-one could earn participants exciting prizes like a stay at Ramada by Wyndham Langkawi Marina and a sunset cruise on the Andaman Sea, or one of two Perodua cars – an Aruz and an Axia,” said Tan.
Beyond the golf, the event promises a festive atmosphere featuring a welcome poolside barbecue dinner, lucky draws, door gifts and entertainment for both golfers and their guests.
Participants will also enjoy a comprehensive package that includes airport transfers, goodie bags and a practice round at Els Club Teluk Datai.
A charity donation will once again be presented during the tournament’s dinner and prize-giving ceremony on behalf of Ramada by Wyndham Langkawi Marina Hotel in support of the Langkawi Autism Care Centre.
With its winning combination of championship golf, holiday appeal and community spirit, the Langkawi Amateur Golf Invitational is expected to attract strong participation when it tees off in August.
