Style and precision showcase Garmin’s Venu X1 timepiece

GARMIN Malaysia introduces the Venu X1, a smartwatch built with an ultrathin 8mm case and a two-inch AMOLED display.

It pairs a lightweight titanium caseback with a scratch resistant sapphire lens, delivering durability without compromising comfort or style, Garmin Asia’s assistant general manager, Scoppen Lin, said in a statement.

“Despite its slim profile, the Venu X1 packs a built-in speaker and microphone for wrist-based calls, plus a bright LED flashlight for improved visibility in low light conditions,” he said.

“With up to eight days of battery life in smartwatch mode, it’s designed for users who want to do more and charge less. The Venu X1 represents the brand’s refined blend of design and functionality to date.

“Venu X1 is the perfect blend of form, function and style. Not only does it pack all of Garmin’s most popular features into a slim profile, but the large display makes it easy to see everything from preloaded maps and workout stats to health insights and smart notifications with stunning clarity,” he added.

Among the features of the sleek, lightweight design are the titanium caseback and sapphire lens for premium durability, 8mm rectangular case with rounded corners for a modern, minimalist look, customisable watch faces to prioritise key metrics such as steps, heart rate, altitude and training readiness, expanded font sizes for easier reading of notifications, and a 24mm quick-release nylon band for secure.

Available in black and moss colourways, the watch has been designed for everyday wear, Lin said.

Certain commands, including “start a running activity” and “set a timer for five minutes”, can be triggered directly from the watch, even without a phone connection.

The Venu X1 doubles as a serious on course tool, offering depth and precision as it comes with 43,000+ preloaded golf courses worldwide, GPS yardages to the front, middle and back of the green, hazard views and layup distances for strategic shot planning, AutoShot detection and shot distance measurements and Green View with manual pin placement.

Also included for golfers is a digital scorecard with stat tracking (fairways hit, putts, strokes), PlaysLike distance for elevation adjusted yardages, Virtual Caddie for club recommendations, CT10 sensor compatibility for automatic club tracking and full integration with the Garmin Golf app for performance insights and leaderboards.

“These features make the Venu X1 a compelling choice for golfers of all levels, equally capable as a daily smartwatch and a dedicated performance tracker on the course,” added Lin.

The Garmin Venu X1 is priced at RM2,999 and available at selected MST Golf stores nationwide.
