MST Golf Group rallied its community for a beach clean-up at Pantai Morib Bahru to reinforce its commitment to environmental stewardship.

The initiative, held in collaboration with Reef Check Malaysia and GZW Return (GZW), was part of MST’s Community Give Back Day under its sustainability programme, Resilient Environmental Stewardship.

The clean-up brought together 85 participants, including MST Golf employees, family members, customers and brand partners such as Cobra, Garmin and Under Armour. Together, the initiative resulted in a collection of 181.6kg of waste along the shoreline. Volunteers were guided by Reef Check Malaysia on coastal conservation practices, while GZW ensured responsible waste management of the collected.

In line with the Group’s green practices, MST Golf also partnered with Opack to provide reusable meal boxes, cutting down the use of 85 single-use plastic containers.

MST Group chief executive officer Ng Yap said of the event: “I was pleased to see our employees, brand partners, families and friends come together to work hand-in-hand to support this important initiative under our #GolfForGood platform.

“While we successfully cleaned the beach for the day, the greater impact was giving participants, especially those experiencing this for the first time, an understanding of the harm of microplastics to our marine life, and why every individual’s effort matters in doing our part for our planet.”
