THERE were two salient issues that emerged from the build-up of this week’s Memorial Tournament hosted at Jack Nicklaus’ Muirfield Village in Dublin, Ohio.

The first was Nicklaus’ assertion that he was mystified Rory McIlory had not won a major since his fourth in 2014.
