GOLF Lab, a company that specialises in science-driven learning programmes and club optimisation, is consolidating its presence in South-East Asia (SEA) and had their founder Liam Mucklow visit here recently.

In Kuala Lumpur, Mucklow conducted training for golf club-fitters and coaches from around the country and Singapore.

The week-long training programme took place at the Golf Lab SEA Performance Centre, located at MST Golf Arena at the Gardens Mall of Mid Valley, where it has a collaboration with the Malaysian retailers.

“This is our first venture into South-East Asia,” Mucklow told TeeUp. “And we are excited about it and aim to broaden our presence here as we offer the latest technologies in teaching the game, advancing club optimisation and club-fitting techniques, and help people enjoy the sport.”

Mucklow added that Golf Lab, whose headquarters are in Toronto, will expand their portfolio to Singapore with the opening of a second performance centre at the new MST Golf superstore situated in City Square Mall.

A second Malaysian facility will follow in July at the MST Golf Arena at Tropicana Gardens Mall in Petaling Jaya, said Mucklow.

“We are pleased to bring the world’s best technical teaching and club-fitting facility to Malaysia and Singapore, and serve our members and customers.

“Applying cutting-edge golf technology, Golf Lab training and club optimisation programmes are unique, as we get golfers to play better faster, through fun and interactive targeted learning programmes. Basically, it is more fun, less time!” he said.

Golf Lab was founded in 2009, when Mucklow said he felt that amateurs should also enjoy the benefits of high-tech training aids.

With regards to their commitment to the new development, MST chief executive officer Ng Yap said: “We are continuously look to provide a complete golf experience for our customers and Golf Lab is an integral part of that wholesome experience.

“Also, one of the missions of MST Golf is to help grow the golf industry and one of the ways to do this is to help golfers learn more effectively and efficiently. By playing better in a shorter period of time, they get to enjoy golf even more and that will obviously spur them to play more and stay in the game longer.”

The Golf Lab Centre at the Gardens Mall is equipped with the latest technologies, including Gears Sports, K-Motion, GCQuad, Swing Catalyst, 3-D Motion Plate, video analysis software, Quintic Ball Roll putting analysis system and a PuttView-enabled synthetic green.

To date, Golf Lab have over 1,500 certified professionals in 17 different countries.
