MST Golf have been appointed TaylorMade Golf’s distributors for Indonesia. This development comes in addition to the retail chain presently holding the brand’s exclusive distribution rights in Malaysia and Singapore.
The appointment as the regional distributors of TaylorMade Golf covering three key markets within the South-East Asian region brings with it a number of advantages for the brand itself, as well as their retailers and consumers.
This news underscores the growing strength of MST, especially after the unexpected positive turn for the golf industry worldwide amid the Covid-19 pandemic. It also goes some to consolidating their position as the leading golf retailers in South-East Asia.
MST Golf’s goal for TaylorMade in all three markets is to execute “consistent brand positioning, smooth and efficient product roll-out in retail stores and achieve clear and consistent marketing communications, as well as pricing for consumers”.
Last month, MST hosted an online virtual product launch to introduce TaylorMade’s 2021 products line-up, highlighted by the much anticipated TaylorMade SIM2 family.
It was attended by key retailers from Malaysia, Singapore and Indonesia, who were briefed by TaylorMade’s vice-president Global Products Brian Bazzel.
He touched on the features and benefits resulting from the technological advances that come with the new product line, to help the dealers better prepare themselves in providing a comprehensive package when serving their customers.
“Coming off a successful launch of the TaylorMade SIM franchise last year, along with strong momentum going into 2021, I am excited with this year’s many new products, especially the SIM2, ” MST Golf chief executive Ng Yap said during the launch. “I cannot wait for consumers to get it into their hands and start playing and enjoying it.”
Along with this news, MST Golf welcomed Timothy Yoong onto their team to oversee the TaylorMade brand in both Singapore and Indonesia. He is a “veteran” in the golf industry with vast experience in regional distribution from his time as a regional brand manager covering South-East Asia and Greater China with another golf company.
“Our TaylorMade team led by Justin Fong and Timothy Yoong are looking forward to working closely with the retailers in all three markets and to continue driving the brand to greater heights.
“With this, I would like to thank the TaylorMade South-East Asia team for their strong support and working closely with us to continue growing the market share and deliver the best TaylorMade brand experience, ” added Ng.
