On fire: Ben Leong played on despite having a fever on the eve of the Sarawak Championship but still shared the first-round lead with Taiwan’s Hung Chien-yao and Justin Quiban of the Philippines at the Damai Golf and Country Club in Santubong yesterday.

KUCHING: Not even a fever could dampen national golfer Ben Leong’s spirits.

The 33-year-old shrugged off his illness to fire a sublime eight-under 64 to grab a share of the opening round lead at the US$300, 000 (RM1.25mil) Sarawak Championship yesterday.
