PETALING JAYA: Kuala Lumpur edged Perak 1-0 away in their FA Cup round of 16 first leg match but coach Dollah Salleh is far from pleased with their display.
The win marks the second straight victory for the City Boys after they lost their first two games of the season.
But it did not bring much relief to Dollah, who said: “I’m quite disappointed with the performance.”
The match at the Manjung Stadium in Perak was an equal contest until the 60th minute, when the home side were down to 10 men after Firdaus Fuad was shown a red card.
Perak, however, battled on valiantly in the last third of the match.
KL were given a lifeline in the 86th minute when they were awarded a penalty which was calmly slotted home by national team skipper Paulo Josue.
The lack of open play threat from KL was a significant concern for Dollah.
“Our attack is still not sharp enough. Only after we had the one-man advantage, did we actually start creating chances.
“Even with 10 men, they (Perak) looked more organised than us. We need to make some changes before the next leg.”
The teams will meet again for the second leg at Cheras Stadium next Wednesday.
