Cklamovski starts afresh in England after leaving Malaysia

Peter Cklamovski set to roar in England.

PETALING JAYA: Peter Cklamovski will leave to England to chart his career as a coach after leaving Malaysia.

The former Harimau Malaya head coach has been appointed as the team manager of Salford City under the English Football League (EFL) League Two side for the upcoming season, the club confirmed on Thursday (June 18).

The 47-year-old’s arrival at Salford follows his stint in Malaysia, a tenure preceded by coaching stints in Japan and Australia.

Owned by Manchester United legends Gary Neville and David Beckham - the club’s appointment of Cklamovski signals a new direction for the club.

The Australian tactician said he was drawn to Salford precisely because of that ambition.

"I’m here with a great opportunity to do something special, and it’s a great challenge," said Cklamovski.

"The owners have got lofty ambitions, the club have big aspirations to achieve something special and that resonates with me."

The new manager wasted little time in laying out his football philosophy.

"We want to build a mentality where we fight for everything with passion, commitment and discipline, but also get on the ball, be brave and have that forward intent to score goals," he said.

"We want to be aggressive and attacking. We want to get our fans off their seats."
