PETALING JAYA: Selangor must keep the intensity high as they approach the tail-end of the season with just four matches remaining in the Super League.

The Red Giants are hosting Sabah at the Petaling Jaya Stadium today, and will be aiming to maximise their points haul from the remaining fixtures to cement their spot in second place.

Midfielder Noor Al-Rawabdeh stressed that the remaining league matches are crucial for the team, and they must not take any of their opponents lightly.

“Every match is like playing a final for us. And the match against Sabah is just as important,” said Al-Rawabdeh.

“We need to maintain our results to secure second place and fully focus on this match.”

Al-Rawabdeh, who will represent Jordan in their historic World Cup debut in June, added that the team have their attention on both the league and the Malaysia Cup, where they drew 1-1 with Kuching City in the semi-final first leg last Sunday.

With the return leg set to kick off at the Sarawak Stadium next Saturday, Selangor will hope to head there after a positive result against Sabah.

“We have to focus on the match against Sabah at home, and after that shift our attention to the Malaysia Cup semi-finals,” he said.

Selangor are not just battling Kuching for the Cup, but are still in the fight to secure second place in the Super League as well.

Only two points currently separate both sides as Selangor have 42 points in second place, while Kuching have 40 in third. Kuala Lumpur are in fourth with 39 points.
