PETALING JAYA: Selangor have given their full support to their two Jordanian players, Noor Al-Rawabdeh and Mohammad Abualnadi, amid escalating conflict in the Middle East.

Al-Rawabdeh and Abualnadi are expected to be fielded by head coach Kim Pan-gon for their clash against Immigration today at the Petaling Jaya Stadium but one can expect nothing but their unwavering comittment.

The Red Giants chief executive officer Dr Johan Kamal Hamidon said the club were keeping a close eye on the players’ welfare during the difficult time in their home country.

“Selangor always place the wellbeing of our players first,” said Johan.

“In Noor (Al-Rawabdeh) and Abualnadi’s case, we have been in close contact with both of them to make sure they feel supported and have the right advice and guidance regarding the situation in the Middle East.

“They are part of the Selangor family, so beyond football, it is important for us that they know the club are here for them.”

Johan said the management have been checking regularly with the players to ensure they had been comfortable and supported during this difficult period.

In recent weeks, the wave of attacks by the United States and Israel on Iran and Teheran’s retaliation strikes against targets in the region have caused a significant portion of the Middle East, including Jordan, to shut down their airspace.

Jordan was also hit by Iranian missiles and drones, which destroyed a US radar system based in the country.

However, Johan said both players had been in good spirits and are keeping a clear head.

“Both players have responded positively and remain focused with the backing of the club and their teammates.

“We will continue to stay close to them and monitor the situation to make sure their wellbeing remains our priority,” he added.
