No game time for Palmero, Hevel, Irazabal and Figueiredo

PETALING JAYA: Four out of seven suspended players will play no part in competitions organised by the Malaysian Football League (MFL). In a statement issued on Saturday (March 7), the league body confirmed it received official notification from the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) on Friday (March 6) regarding the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) decision on the appeal by seven heritage players.

"The notification stated that the seven players remain subject to a 12-month suspension; however, this applies only to official matches and not to all football-related activities.

"Following this ruling, three involved players from Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT) - Joao Figueiredo, Jon Irazabal and Hector Hevel - along with Kuching City FC player Gabriel Palmero, are not permitted to feature in the Malaysia League throughout the suspension period," the statement said.

As for the games they played in and whether the results would be null and void, a source from MFL said the status is uncertain as they wait for retrospective action from the Asian Football Confederation (AFC).
