PETALING JAYA: Kuala Lumpur coach Risto Vidakovic (pic) has called for better support from the club’s management as the City Boys are proving they can still deliver despite struggling with off-pitch issues like salary arrears.
KL have also been slapped with a three-window transfer ban by FIFA for unpaid salaries.
“I think the players and staff have been doing their jobs well, so I hope they (management) will respond and support the team,” said Vidakovic.
“The team are playing good football, and fans have been coming to the stadium.’’
The Bosnian could not help voicing out his frustrations after KL came from behind to secure their Malaysia Cup semi-final spot after edging Terengganu 2-1 in the second leg at the Cheras Stadium last Sunday. They advanced 3-2 on aggregate.
In the Super League, KL are currently fourth with 30 points, and will be hoping to add three more when they meet Brunei at the Cheras Stadium tonight.
Brunei are seventh with 18 points but they are not dealing with quite the same issues KL are facing.
Vidakovic said Brunei have been strengthened by many new signings and will be a tough side to beat.
“For us, given our situation, every game will be difficult for us. We are struggling and have to fight, and we can never expect an easy game.
“The most important thing is that the team stay positive and keep winning,” he added.
