PETALING JAYA: Selangor have booked a semi-final spot in the Asean Club Championships Shopee Cup after finishing second in Group A.
The Red Giants were held 1-1 by Thai club BG Pathum United in their final group game at the Petaling Jaya Stadium. With the draw, they finished the group campaign with nine points from five matches.
Defending champions Buriram United topped the group with nine points, but are ahead of Selangor thanks to goal difference.
In the game in Petaling Jaya, Selangor first took the lead through captain and winger Faisal Halim in the 36th minute, but conceded an equaliser in the 63rd minute after Selangor defender Richmond Ankrah scored an own goal.
