Sabah maintain winning form, trash Police 4-1

PETALING JAYA: Sabah kept their winning momentum going after recording a second win in the Super League this season by thrashing Police 4-1 at the Selayang Stadium on Saturday (Dec 6).

The Rhinos took the lead just before the break when Darren Lok scored in the 44th minute.

The second half saw Sabah extend their lead through Miguel Cifuentes in the 54th minute, before Ajdin Mujagic made it three six minutes later.

Police, who suffered their fifth straight loss in the Super League, got a consolation goal after Agbre Noel scored a penalty in the 74th minute but it didn't stop Fergus Tierney from scoring Sabah's fourth and final goal of the night.

Sabah's first league win came in their previous match when they defeated Penang 3-2 last month, after which they went on to book their spot in the FA Cup final for the first time in 27 years by edging Selangor 5-4 on penalties in the semi-finals.

The win against Police moved Sabah up to eighth place with 10 points, while Police are 11th with six points.

Meanwhile, Melaka got their first win this season by stunning Negri Sembilan 2-0 at the Hang Jebat Stadium.

Striker Juan Douglas was Melaka's hero for the night, scoring both goals in the fourth and 26th minutes.

Melaka moved up from the bottom spot in the table to 10th with six points now, while Negri are in sixth place with 13 points.
