JDT snap up Nacho Mendez as fourth heritage player


PETALING JAYA: Johor Darul Ta'zim are on a shopping spree for Malaysian heritage players.

After confirming the arrivals of midfielder Hector Hevel, centreback Jon Irazabal and playmaker Joao Figueiredo, the Southern Tigers have announced the signing of Spanish-born midfielder Nacho Mendez.

"Nacho Mendez makes Johor his first destination after a career in Spain," said the club in a statement on Wednesday (July 9).

The 27-year-old Mendez last played for Spanish second division side Sporting Gijon.
