Soccer-Bodo/Glimt go from European fairytale to early domestic cup exit

(Reuters) -Bodo/Glimt crashed back down to earth in brutal fashion on Monday, their European dreams a fading memory as they were knocked out in the third round of the Norwegian Cup by second-tier side Aalesund.

Despite reaching the Europa League semi-finals, which ended with elimination by English side Tottenham Hotspur on Thursday, there was no trace of that fairytale run days later, as Bodo slumped to a 1–0 loss away at Aalesund.

The western coastal club of Aalesund were relegated to the second tier in 2023, but were the better team against the current Norwegian champions and earned a deserved win thanks to a Marius Andresen goal early in the second half.
