PETALING JAYA: Kuching City intend to spring more surprises next season after defying the odds to finish an unexpected fourth in the Super League.
Coach Aidil Sharin (pic) said that he intends to keep 90 per cent of the current players and recruit three to four new talents to bolster the team for their 2025-2026 campaign.
The Singaporean expressed his excitement over the team’s direction as preparation begins for the new season, with pre-season training set to kick off in June.
“We are committed to maintaining our core group because continuity breeds success,” Aidil said.
“While we acknowledge there are areas we need to strengthen, we are also mindful of the need for depth, especially as we compete on a larger stage in the Asean competition. Strategic rotation will be essential, and we are planning accordingly.”
Reflecting on the concluded season, he added: “I want to extend my gratitude to the players and staff for their unwavering support.
‘’We faced our share of challenges early on, but we rallied in the second half and truly hit our stride. Our dedication was evident in our performances.”
