Elephants hope banned Sherman can play in final

PETALING JAYA: Pahang have sent a letter of appeal over the suspension of their import player Kpah Sherman who picked up a second yellow card in the semi-final match of the Malaysia Cup earlier this month.

Pahang chief executive officer Datuk Mohd Suffian Awang said the letter was sent to the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) last week.

“Pahang requested FAM to give due consideration regarding the status of Sherman who collected two yellow cards in the Malaysia Cup competition.

“Through this appeal letter, the club hope that Sherman will be allowed to play in the final against Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT) on April 26,” he said.

Pahang coach Fandi Ahmad has already said they have made an appeal on behalf of Sherman.

The last time Pahang reached the final was in 2014 and were crowned champions that season after beating JDT 5-3 on penalties.
