PETALING JAYA: As Jordi Amat predicted in the pre-match press conference, the clash between Buriram United and Johor Darul Ta'zim (JDT) was intense.

Both teams shared the points with a 0-0 draw in the AFC Champions League Elite at the Sultan Ibrahim Stadium, but the match was overshadowed by three red cards and a lot of aggression from both sides.

The first red card went to JDT leftback Murilo Henrique, who was sent off after a video assistant referee (VAR) review showed he committed a last-man challenge on Buriram rightback Dion Cools.

The second red card was given to Buriram leftback Teerathon Bunmathan for grabbing the private area of JDT winger Arif Aiman Hanapi during an off-the-ball incident.

The first half was marked by aggression, with referee Khalid Saleh Al-Turais issuing four yellow cards, three to Buriram and one to JDT.

The third red card was issued to JDT centreback Park Jun-heong for a dangerous high-footed challenge on Buriram winger Lucas Crispim.

JDT now sit sixth in the standings with eight points, while Buriram are eighth, also with eight points but separated by goal difference.
