JDT do the double in Malaysian futsal

PETALING JAYA: Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT) have achieved the Malaysian futsal double.

Following their triumph in the Malaysian Premier Futsal League division one title in August, the Southern Tigers claimed the Malaysia Cup by defeating Selangor 3-2 at the Axiata Arena in Bukit Jalil on Sunday (Oct 6).

Coached by Juan Antonio Garcia, JDT’s goals were netted by Bruno Taffy in the fourth minute, Firdaus Ambiah in the 12th minute, and Awalludin Mat Nawi in the 20th minute.

Selangor netted the goals through Gabriel Rosa in the 14th minute and Aidil Shahril in the 25th minute.

Last year, they were defeated by the Pahang Rangers 1-3 in a penalty shootout following a 4-4 draw in regulation time.
