Acid attack survivor Mickey returns to football action

PETALING JAYA: Faisal Halim (pic) has entered the field.

The Selangor winger made his long-awaited return to the game when he was brought on as a substitute in the 85th minute during their Super League game against Kelantan at the Petaling Jaya Stadium here on Saturday (Aug 10).

The nippy player replaced Jordanian striker Reziq Bani Hani. Selangor are currently leading Kelantan 2-0.

The 26-year-old was away for three months after being scarred and injured due to an acid attack at a shopping mall in Damansara on May 5.

On Aug 4, he was on the Selangor bench, ready to come on if the team needed him.

Having him on the bench was what they needed, as they thumped Terengganu 4-1 in the FA Cup semi-final second leg at the Petaling Jaya Stadium.

The Red Giants got to the FA Cup final after clinching a 6-4 aggregate. They were beaten 2-3 in the first-leg at the Sultan Mizan Stadium in Gong Badak on July 19.
