JDT coach praises players for sticking to the game plan

ISKANDAR PUTERI: Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT) head coach Hector Bidoglio praised his players for adhering to the game plan in their 3-0 victory against Kedah in the second leg of the FA Cup semi-final match on Sunday.

He said the team broke the deadlock in the second half after being held off by Kedah’s resilient defence and an outstanding performance from goalkeeper Kalamullah Al-Hafiz Mat Rowi in the first half at Sultan Ibrahim Stadium.

“In the first half, the team moved the ball from side to side and found the space but sometimes we played too fast,” said Bidoglio.

“In the second half, we adjusted some details. We needed to be patient, move the ball and find the right space at the right moment. The players did the job very, very well,” he said.

Kedah head coach Nafuzi Zain commended his players for giving their best effort against JDT despite the loss. Kalamullah should be commended for keeping a clean slate until Southern Tigers defender Feroz Baharudin broke the deadlock in the 49th minute.

JDT added two more goals through Bergson Da Silva in the 76th minute and Juan Gallego in the 82nd minute.

JDT will face Selangor in the FA Cup final on Aug 24 at the Bukit Jalil Stadium. — Bernama
