PETALING JAYA: Kedah will take on JDT in the FA Cup semi-final.

The Canaries booked their spot in the next stage after clinching a 1-0 aggregate win against northern rivals Penang in the two-legged quarter-final.

They were held 0-0 in the second-leg held at the Darulaman Stadium in Alor Setar on Friday (July 5).

Kedah won the first-leg 1-0 at the City Stadium in Georgetown last week.

Meanwhile, Malaysian Universities' hope of snatching a goal proved too tough, instead, they were thrashed again by the mighty Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT).

The Southern Tigers scored eight past the minnows, with Brazilian striker Heberty Fernandes (27th and 29th minute) and playmaker Romel Morales (71st and 91st) headlining the thrashing with two goals each.

The other goals came from Spaniard winger Juan Muniz (20th), centreback Feroz Baharudin (35th), Portuguese midfielder Francisco Geraldes (61st), playmaker Romel Moreles (71st) and Brazilian striker Bergson Da Silva (78th).

JDT qualified for the semi-final by clinching a handsome 13-0 aggregate from the two legs. They thrashed the University Tigers 5-0 in the first-leg.
