PETALING JAYA: Selangor’s Venezuelan import Yohandry Orozco was the toast of the Red Giants as they demolished Negri Sembilan 4-0 in their Super League match at the Petaling Jaya Stadium on Sunday.
The 33-year-midfielder fired a brace in the 68th and 76th minutes and also provided an assist to help Selangor nail their second straight win.
And Orozco, also a former Venezuelan international, has promised more entertaining and winning displays to please the club’s passionate fans.
“This is only the start for us and we will get better game by game. I’m so happy to score two goals and also create one and I intend to do more to keep the fans happy,” he said.
The former Wolfsburg player added that the players are highly motivated under coach Nidzam Jamil and will be out to repay his faith in them.
Selangor’s other goals against Negri were scored by Chilean striker Ronnie Fernandez in the 57th minute and Jordanian hitman Reziq Bani Hani in the 91st.
Meanwhile, Nidzam said he was pleased to see his players show guile and character to get the handsome win.
“The players have the character to be even better. They prepared well for this match and their attitude was really good. I like what I saw in Orozco and Ronnie’s work rate also made a difference.”
