PETALING JAYA: Injured national footballer Faisal Halim is assured of the best treatment possible as Selangor palace will bear all the cost of treatment until he recovers.

Faisal, who suffered from fourth degree burns after he was splashed with sulfuric acid by unknown assailant on Sunday, will be receiving skin allograft (skin patch) treatment soon.

The skin patch is imported from Belgium and can cost up to RM30,000.

This was revealed by Selangor technical committee chairman Datuk Seri Shahril Mokhtar today (Wednesday), adding that the assurance comes from Regent of Selangor Tengku Amir Shah Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah.

"Faisal's medical costs have been covered by insurance but we want the best for him.

As you know, the best treatment usually involves high costs," said Shahril.

Tuanku (Tengku Amir Shah) assured me that there is no need to worry as the palace will bear all the medical costs.

"Based on the surgeon, the extended procedure will probably take place this week.

"This skin allograft is considered the highest standard for treating burn wounds in patients who do not have enough skin to cover the burn on the body," he added.

Faisal had injuries on his face, neck, arms and body as a result of the acid attack.
