Former J-League striker Hadi moves to Perak to reignite career

PETALING JAYA: After four years in the Land of the Rising Sun, Malaysia Under-23 striker Hadi Fayyadh Abdul Razak (pic) has returned to don the famed black and yellow jersey of Perak.

The former Fagiano Okayama and Azul Claro Numazu player joined the Seladang on a two-year deal as he looks to rejuvenate his career after going through injuries, especially a severe knee injury in 2020.

Many thought he would stay on in Japan and hone his career, but it looks like the 22-year-old feels a move to Perak would be the spark needed for him to be one of the top target men in the nation.

What’s his wish now that he has secured a move to the north? It’s to score goals in every game he plays and be of value to Perak.

But Hadi is also aware that his new journey will not be easy and it will take time for him to be at the desired level.

“I believe that fortune is everywhere and I see the seriousness of Perak who wants my services – not forgetting coach Lim Teong Kim who made me feel appreciated and valued,” he said.

“Opportunities don’t always come and now this is my chance to return to Malaysia and play with Perak.

“It will take time because I have been in Japan for a long time, but I believe that the coaching staff in Perak can help me do better this season.

“Of course, my target is to score goals and I want to be the best striker, but as I said, everything needs time to adapt, and I also have to set a good example to the team as well as my mates.”

Speaking about his performance when he was with Fagiano Okayama and Azul Claro Numazu, Hadi described that he had tried his best to learn something there despite playing for fewer minutes, which did not stop him from continuing to work hard to pursue bigger dreams after this.

“For me, people don’t know what I went through there (in Japan) and what they see is only 1%,” he said.

“To be in a country of different people is not easy but I know I have done my best after four years, and I believe that fortune is everywhere.

“That’s why I hope this year will be the best for me to prove something. Of course, it will take time, but I believe with the atmosphere and guidance here, I can do it.”
