Harimau Muda in AFF U-19 final

PETALING JAYA: Malaysia have booked a spot in the final of the Asean Football Federation (AFF) Under-19 Championship in Indonesia.

Harimau Muda shocked tournament favourites Vietnam 3-0 at the Patriot Candrabhaga Stadium in West Java, Indonesia, on Wednesday (July 13).

Hasan Sazali Waras' side were defensively disciplined and relied on quick counters to get goals and puncture the young Viets.

The goals were scored by Adam Farhan Mohd Faizal in the 26th minute, Haiqal Haqeemi Hairi (71st) and Haykal Danish Mohd Haizon (86th).

The Malaysian team will meet the winner of the Thailand-Laos match in the final.

Malaysia last won the tournament in 2018 under the tutelage of Croatian coach Bojan Hodak.
