Zhafri ever ready to forgo holiday to answer call-up


Eager beaver: Zhafri Yahya had no hesitation in answering the call-up from the national team despite being on holiday in Batu Pahat, Johor.

PETALING JAYA: Zhafri Yahya was spending time with his in-laws in Batu Pahat when he got the call from the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) to join the Harimau Malaya centralised camp in Kuala Lumpur led by South Korean coach Kim Pan-gon.

The Kuala Lumpur player immediately said yes to the call-up and reported for national duty last night, replacing Petaling Jaya City’s striker Darren Lok, who is down with Covid-19.
