Malaysia face tough task after losing to Laos in first leg

Right on target: Malaysia’s A. Selvan scoring against Laos during the first-leg of the AFF Under-23 Championship Group B match at the Prince Stadium in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.

KUALA LUMPUR: It was a match Malaysia had no business losing but they made life difficult by going down 1-2 to Laos in the AFF Under-23 Championship.

And now the Harimau Muda have a mountain to climb as they must beat Laos with a higher goal margin in the Group B return-leg match on Monday to keep their semi-final hopes alive. If the aggregate score of both matches end in a draw after extra time, then the winner will be decided by a penalty shootout.
