Soccer-LaLiga confirm CAS appeal against FIFA, CONMEBOL

MADRID (Reuters) - The Spanish football league, LaLiga, on Friday said it had appealed to the Court of Arbitration for Sport over FIFA's decision to extend the South American (CONMEBOL) World Cup qualifying window.

World soccer's governing body announced earlier this month that fixtures missed in March due to the COVID-19 pandemic would be played in September and October, and increased the CONMEBOL international window by two days until Sept. 10.
