JDT all set to sign Wolves midfielder Nathaniel

JOHOR BARU: Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT) have reached an agreement to sign Nathaniel Shio Hong Wan, a British player of Malaysian descent, from English Premier League side Wolverhampton Wanderers.

The announcement was made by JDT’s technical director Alistair Edwards through the club’s official Facebook page on Thursday.

“This agreement is subject to the successful application of his (Nathaniel) Malaysian citizenship and he will begin when his current contract expires in June, ” said Edwards.

Nathaniel, a 20-year-old midfielder, is of mixed Malaysian-Chinese parentage and has been playing for Wolves since July 2019.

Prior to this, the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) were also reported to be “courting” Nathaniel to join the Harimau Malaya squad.

Nathaniel, on his part, has not ruled out the possibility of donning a national jersey one day. — Bernama
